How we handle your information

Who we are

Tax Mesh Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17131843, with its registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. For anything relating to your data, contact info@taxmesh.co.uk.

What we collect

Through the contact form and the newsletter we collect your name, email address, phone number, business type and the message you send us. The MTD checker stores nothing at all; your answers stay in your browser and are never sent to us.

Once you become a client we collect the information needed to provide bookkeeping, accounting and tax services, including your financial records, and the identity documents we are required to obtain under anti money laundering law.

Why we process it

To respond to enquiries you send us, to provide the services set out in your engagement letter, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Those include anti money laundering identity checks, the record keeping our supervisory body requires, and returns we file on your behalf.

Who we share it with

HMRC and Companies House where we act as your agent. Our accounting software providers, which host data in the UK or the European Economic Area. Identity verification providers used for anti money laundering and Companies House checks. Our professional advisers and our supervisory body where they are entitled to see it. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data for twelve months if you do not become a client. Client engagement records for six years after the engagement ends, which is the period required by law and by our professional body. Identity verification records for five years after the relationship ends, as anti money laundering rules require.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Write to info@taxmesh.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed for it to function and for basic anonymous visitor statistics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not share visitor data with advertising networks.

Website terms of use

Information on this site is general and does not constitute advice for your circumstances. Tax rates, thresholds and deadlines change, and while we keep the Tax Hub current you should confirm any figure before relying on it. No client relationship arises until an engagement letter has been signed by both parties.

Package prices shown on this site are indicative. The fee stated in your engagement letter is the one that applies. Tax Mesh Ltd is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to any fee.

Regulatory status

Tax Mesh Ltd is regulated and certified by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, which also supervises the practice for anti money laundering purposes. We are registered with HMRC as a tax adviser and with Companies House as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider. Tax Mesh Ltd is not a registered auditor and does not carry out statutory audits.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, write to info@taxmesh.co.uk and we will acknowledge within five working days and respond within twenty. If we cannot resolve it between us, you can refer the matter to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.

Changes to this notice

We update this page when our practice or the law changes. This version was last reviewed in September 2026.
