Choose, set up, connect, train

Choosing the platform

FreeAgent for sole traders and simple companies. Xero or QuickBooks for anyone with stock, projects, multiple currencies or a team. We set up a trial so you can see it before deciding.

Setting up and migrating

Chart of accounts tailored to your sector, opening balances agreed to your last accounts, bank feeds connected, VAT settings correct, invoice templates branded, customers and suppliers imported, and history migrated where it is worth keeping.

Connecting apps

Receipt capture with Dext or Hubdoc, payment collection through GoCardless or Stripe, ecommerce through Shopify or A2X, point of sale, project and time tracking, and payroll.

Training and support

A one hour screen share to get you confident, written guides for the tasks you will do yourself, and ongoing support included in every package.

Frequently asked

Do I have to change software to work with you?

No. If you are on Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent already we work in your existing file. We only recommend a move if the current setup is holding you back.

Will my historic data come across?

Opening balances always. Full transaction history where it is worth the effort, usually the current and prior year, so your comparatives work.

Is my data safe?

All three platforms are hosted in the UK or EU with bank grade encryption. We are ICO registered and follow data protection rules in how we handle your information.

Can I still do some of the bookkeeping myself?

Yes. Many clients raise their own invoices and we handle the rest. We agree the split in the engagement letter so nothing falls between us.

Which is better, Xero or QuickBooks?

Both are excellent. Xero tends to suit businesses with more complex needs and better app connections; QuickBooks is often cheaper and simpler for sole traders and small companies. We will tell you which one fits after the discovery call.
